    • Master the use of ISO in low-light conditions to ensure sharp images without introducing noise.

    • Understanding aperture for controlling depth of field and isolating players in the frame.

    • How to use burst mode for capturing multiple frames during key moments.

  • Lighting Techniques for Indoor Sports

    • How to deal with the challenging lighting of indoor courts (fluorescent lights, low lighting, and high contrast).

    • Tips for working with artificial light, using white balance to avoid unnatural color casts, and balancing ambient light with your camera settings.

  • Capturing Movement and Emotion

    • Techniques for photographing fast-paced action, from slam dunks to fast breaks.

    • How to capture emotion and intensity—free throws, celebrations, and expressions during tense moments.

    • Framing and composition techniques to highlight both the action and the atmosphere of the game.

  • Positioning and Angles

    • Best shooting positions on the court for maximum action shots, including near the baseline, sidelines, and above the stands.

    • How to anticipate key moments and position yourself for the best shots.

    • Experimenting with different perspectives and camera angles for dramatic shots—low, high, wide, and tight frames.

  • Halftime

    • Review the shots taken so far and discuss techniques and challenges.

  • 2nd Half

    • More shooting time during basketball game

    • Focus on capturing emotion, reactions, and key moments. Instructor will guide participants.

  • 3:30 PM - 4:00 PM: Review & Q&A

    • Participants will review their best shots from the day.

    • Group critique and feedback, followed by an open Q&A session.

What to Bring:

  • Camera (DSLR or mirrorless preferred)

  • Lenses (Telephoto zoom lens like 70-200mm is ideal, 25mm-85 is also preferred but any fast prime (2.8 aperture) or zoom lens will work)

  • Memory cards (at least two)

  • Extra batteries

  • Comfortable clothing for moving around the gym and quick adjustments

  • Water bottle and snacks for hydration and energy
