Embark on a nocturnal adventure through the streets of Portsmouth and elevate your skills under the night glow of city lights! The narrow streets, characters, revellers, storefronts, bars & restaurants, – it all adds up to a great night of photography.

What You’ll Learn:

·      Uncover the basics of capturing the essence of life after dark.

·      Learn how to handle low-light to manage exposure

·      Select the right focal length

·      Master the art of composing captivating street scenes

·      Explore techniques for framing and creating a mood.

·      Understand the play of light and shadows in night photography.

·      Capture the unique contrasts and highlights that make your images pop.

·      Learn techniques for capturing authentic, spontaneous moments

·      Explore the architectural wonders that make Portsmouth unique

·      Learn to use buildings, streets, and landmarks as dramatic backdrops.

What You’ll Need:

·      Smartphone, Compact, DSLR or Mirrorless Camera

·      Appropriate footwear and outerwear

·      Medium Focal Length Lens 35mm - 85mm

·      Tripod (optional)

Pre-Walk In-Class Session 5:00-6:00

•           Prior to hitting the streets, we will meet in a classroom setting located in Downtown Portsmouth to discuss camera settings and techniques

•           We will discuss how to shoot the decisive moment to tell a story

•           A handout will be provided for you to practice what you learned on a guided night walk.

This workshop is designed for photographers of all levels, whether you're an intermediate or just starting your journey into the world of street photography.
